Pacers Gallop Past the Nittany Lions, 78-52

Four Pacers put up double digits

Scranton, Pa. — The Marywood University women's basketball team faced off with Penn State Wilkes-Barre Monday evening. The Pacers (7-3) would roll past the Nittany Lions (3-5), defeating them 78-52. 

The Pacers had a dominant start, scoring 27 in the first quarter, while shooting 55.6 percent from the floor and going 4-8 beyond the arc. 

Marywood continued to command the court, putting up 21 points compared to Wilkes-Barre's nine in the second. This gave the Pacers a 48-23 lead going into the half. 

In the third quarter, the Nittany Lions out-scored the Pacers 18-12. Marywood was able to hold a 19 point lead heading into the final quarter. 

Marywood would go on to win 78-52. 

Olivia Ciullo flirted with a double-double, having a team-leading 17 points and nine rebounds. 

Mia Blume had 14 points while Miranda Cantor and Alli Griscavage put up 10 a piece. 

Rachel McDonald led the team with eight assists. 

The Pacers went 44.4 percent (28-63) from the floor, 38.1 percent (8-21) beyond the arc, and 66.7 percent (14-21) from the charity stripe. 

The Nittany Lions did not fare as well, going 34.6 percent (18-52) from the field, 33.3 percent (6-18) from three, and 58.8 percent (10-17) from the free throw line.

Marywood out-rebounded the Nittany Lions 43-31. 

The Pacers will be back at Insalaco Arena on Wednesday with a match against Penn State Altoona.
