Hervieux Breaks 200 Back Record at AEC Championships

Marywood finishes fifth in team standings

St. Mary's City, Md. -- Marywood University junior Dylan Hervieux broke the 200 back school record this weekend at the Atlantic East Conference Men's Swimming & Diving Championships. The Pacers finished in fifth place with 248 points in the overall team standings.

Hervieux claimed the 200 back record with a runner-up finish. He touched the wall in 1:58.14 to beat Brian Shanahan's 2015 record by 44-hundredths of a second. It was a 7.35-second drop from his seed time.

He becomes the first Marywood men's swimmer to break a school record in five seasons. It is the first Marywood record broken during the Atlantic East Conference era.

Hervieux had a pair of second-place performances to earn him all-conference recognition. He also came in second place in the 100 back, finishing in a time of 54.54 seconds. Hervieux dropped more than two seconds off his seed time and leapfrogged Marymount's Justin Singletary in the finals for second place. His swim ranked third all-time at Marywood.

Hervieux was sixth place in the 200 free in 1:48.09. His time registers fourth all-time at Marywood.

Quinn Grosvenor swam the fifth-best 100 butterfly in school history. He came in seventh place overall with a 53.58-second swim, dropping 1.92 seconds off his seed time. Quinn raced to a sixth place finish in the 500 free with a mark of 5:06.59.

Nathan Grosvenor also placed seventh in the 200 breast. He came in a time of 2:25.78, dropping five seconds to make the podium.

In the relays, the Marywood 400 free relay squad of Quinn Grosvenor, Johnny Wargins, Nathan Grosvenor and Hervieux were fourth in 3:26.44. That foursome was fourth in the 200 medley relay with a six-second drop of 1:42.67.

Marywood's best relay came in the 800 free. Hervieux, Nathan Grosvenor, Zach Grosvenor, and Quinn Grosvenor clocked in at 7:54.82 for third place.
