Aston, Pa. - The Marywood University baseball team (1-1) traveled to the University of Valley Forge to face off against the Patriots (4-3). The Pacers would eventually come up short, 6-5, as the Patriots walked it off with a line drive to right field.
Christian Michak, Adam Ginsberg, and Cameron Kohut collected two hits a piece in the contest.
The Patriots got on the board early, scoring a run in the first inning.
The Pacers responded in the seventh to tie it up.
In the eighth, AJ Kuzior pinch hit and drove in three runs on a double.
Valley Forge answered with four runs of their own to tie it up going into the ninth.
Marywood was held quiet going down in order.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Patriots were able to get a man on first with a walk. Valley Forge's Colin Orndorff then ripped a liner into right field. Plating the run across to win the game.
Max Ryan got the start on the bump recording five innings, three hits, one earned run, two walks, and three strikeouts.
Brett Kugler and Danny Becker each threw one inning of relief tallying clean sheets.
The Pacers will travel to Rosemont College Wednesday to take on the Ravens in a doubleheader.
