Hot Hitting Pushes Pacers Past King's

Marywood totaled 16 hits

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. — Marywood University baseball traveled down interstate 81 to take on the King's College Monarchs (9-18) in a non-conference matchup. The Pacers (17-8) would defeat the Monarchs, 14-10. 

AJ Giannetti led the Pacers offensively tallying four hits and career high, five RBI.

King's got two runs in the first two innings on two RBI singles. 

Marywood went on to have a four run rally in the bottom of the third. 

Vinny D'Auria brought in the first run with an RBI groundout. 

Giannetti followed with a single to left field, scoring Joe Yannelli

AJ Kuzior joined the hit parade with a RBI single to right. 

The Pacers tacked on another run in the fourth with a double from Adam Ginsberg, making it a 5-2 game. 

In the top of the sixth, D'Auria roped a double, plating two. Giannetti followed with an RBI double of his own.  

The Monarchs scored three runs in the bottom half, with a two-run double and a sacrifice fly, still trailing 9-5. 

Marywood continued the run production in the top of the seventh. Christian Michak laced an RBI double and Joel Ayers launched a two run homerun. 

King's went on to score five runs in the bottom of the seventh. 

The Pacers got two insurance runs in the top of the ninth. Giannetti and Yannelli each had a RBI single. 

AJ Jordan blanked the Monarchs in the bottom of the ninth, striking out one.  

Aidan Dolan earned the win, improving to 2-1 on the year. In two ⅓ innings of work, he allowed just two hits and a walk, while striking out one.
 
Matt Masala recorded the loss. In two ⅔ innings he allowed four hits, two earned runs, and two walks. Masala struck out four. 

Brett Kugler, Matthew Klipple, and Danny Tiedemann combined to throw two ⅔ innings of shutout ball. 

The Pacers will play Manhattanville at home on Wednesday in a non-conference matchup.
