Pacers Honor Senior Class in Home Setback

Marymount breaks tie open with 10 straight goals

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University honored six graduating men's lacrosse seniors as part of a 17-6 loss to rival Marymount University Saturday in Atlantic East Conference men's lacrosse action. The Saint broke open a tie game with 10 unanswered goals.

John Scibello led the Pacers offense with three goals and an assist. Dillon Kane finished with a goal and an assist.

Five Pacers — Scibello, Kane, Dalton Gerver, Nick Ericson and Cam Hallett — finished with four ground balls.

Marywood honored seniors Aiden Kilkenny, Hallett, Ericson, Gabe Stover, and Gerver prior to the game. The Pacers also acknowledged Physician Assistant seniors Matt Manna and Seth Croll.

 Colin Trainor finished with 16 saves for the Pacers. His counterpart Jacob Brooks matched him with 16 points.

The Saints' Gavin Taylorson led offensively with four goals. Jack Williams finished with seven points on three goals and four assists. Bryan Maguire had two goals and two assists.

Marymount outshot the Pacers by a 44-34 margin. The Saints outnumbered the Pacers 43-37 in ground balls. Led by Ericson, Marywood had a slight 13-12 edge at the faceoff-x.

The Pacers took an early lead on a Kilkenny goal from Lucas Wilson. Marymount responded three minutes later on a Chris Bochilo netter. Scibello gave Marywood a 3-1 lead with back-to-back Scibello goals in a 35-second span. Marymount benefited from two man-up goals to even the score, and Maguire scored just at the period's buzzer for a 3-2 lead.

Trailing 5-3, Marywood scored a man-down and -up goals from Kane and Scibello, respectively, to knot the score at 5-5 with 7:48 left. Marymount's Williams added another man-up goal before the half's break to take a 5-4 lead and kick up the 10-goal run.

Marywood wraps its regular season on Wednesday night against Immaculata University.
