Pacers Offense Spurs Win over Knights

Marywood collects 22 total hits

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University's bats came alive for a 23-5 victory over Mount St. Mary College (N.Y.) Tuesday in non-conference baseball. The Pacers won for the second consecutive season over the Knights. 

Joel Ayers continued his torrid run with a 3 for 5 performance with three runs and four RBIs. Christian Michak went 3 for 4 with three runs and two RBIs. 

Vinny D'Auria and Adam Ginsberg also contributed with three-hit performances. Ginsberg scored three runs, and D'Auria reached based five times. 

Joey Galantini and Coleman McCain each had two hits. Ethan Levine and AJ Giannetti drove in two RBIs.

Max Ryan (4-2) earned the victory with a perfect fifth inning featuring two strikeouts. 

Owen Reilly took the bump and allowed one earned run in four innings. He yielded six hits with four strikeouts. AJ Jordan struck out the six, and Connor Watkins pitched a scoreless ninth. 

Marywood opened the game with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Michak led off with a double, and Ginsberg slapped an RBI single up the middle. Giannetti and Galantini hit RBI singles. 

The Pacers scored six runs in the third and seven runs in the sixth inning. 

Marywood continues its string of six games in five days Wednesday at Albright College.
