Pacers Prevail Over the Lions on the Road

Marywood relievers posted five scoreless innings

Reading, Pa. — The Marywood University baseball team won its 20th game for the third time in program history. The Pacers pulled out a 3-2 victory over Albright College. Marywood stands at 20-10 on the season.

Joel Ayers led the Pacers on offense, notching a pair of hits and scoring a run.

In the bottom of the first, Albright grabbed an early 1-0 lead on an RBI single to center.

Marywood was quick to answer, Vinny D'Auria crossed the plate on a double play in the top half of the second.

Albright regained the lead in the home half of the fourth inning with an RBI double.

In the top of the fifth, the Pacers would score two more runs on a single off the bat of AJ Giannetti. The two-base knock put Marywood up, and they would go on to win 3-2.

Charlie Hamm got the start for the Pacers, hurling four innings of two-run ball. Hamm allowed two runs on five hits and a walk, while striking out seven.

Austin Bausman picked up the win in his two innings of work, conceding just one hit and one walk.

The two-inning save is credited to Danny Tiedemann, who did not allow a single hit or walk. Tiedemann struck out two Lions.

Danny Cossa tossed a scoreless and hitless inning as well.

Marywood is back in action on Thursday. The Pacers host Manhattanville University in another non-conference matchup.
