Pacers Win in Dominant Fashion

Marywood is one win shy of tying program record

Box Score Scranton, Pa. -- The Marywood baseball team picked up their 21st victory of the season with a 20-0 win over Manhattanville College on Thursday. The Pacers improve to 21-10 with the dominant non-conference win.

The 21st victory is one shy of the program record of 22.

The Pacers totaled 20 hits and 20 runs, scoring at least one run in seven different innings.

Christian Michak led the charge, going 4 for 5, adding two RBIs and three runs scored along the way.

Tristan Gatchalain collected three hits of his own, along with an RBI and a walk.

Max Slusser led Marywood with four RBIs as he went 1 for 4 with walk and an extra base knock.

Vinny D'Auria picked up two extra base hits in the game, collecting both a double and a triple.

Five other Pacers also recorded two hits a piece.

Marywood had seven pitchers throw on the day, as the committee combined for a complete-game shutout. The pitching staff gave up only three hits and one walk, while striking out six.

Michael Aronica picked up the win for the Pacers, throwing an effective two innings on nine pitches.

Marywood began the game with two runs in the bottom of the first.

The Pacers would score two or more runs in each of the next seven innings, with four runs crossing the plate in both the second and sixth innings.

Marywood looks to keep the bats hot on Friday as they host Gwynedd Mercy to begin a three game in-conference series.
