Women's Tennis Advances to AEC Final with Win over Neumann

Faith Kendricks wins first singles, doubles spots

Aston, Pa. — Second-seeded Marywood University reached the Atlantic East Conference women's tennis championship with a 5-3 win over Neumann University in the semifinals on Friday afternoon. The Pacers will take on No. 1 Marymount University in the finals on Saturday at ESCS Memorial Courts in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. 

Faith Kendricks won the top flights in singles and doubles. Kendricks defeated Kaitlyn Smith 6-4, 6-3 in No. 1 singles. She teamed with McKenna Seavey for an 8-3 win in the top doubles match. 

Kylie Kilgore defeated Neumann's Dari Troilo 7-5, 6-2 in second singles. In No. 5 singles, Cat English prevailed in three sets with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 victory over Kylie Seeger. 

Marywood's Meilei Cianfrocco and Gabby Nunez went on for an 8-3 win over Kannitha Phosouvanh and Seeger in #3 doubles. 

Nunez played to an unfinished No. 4 singles match with Rachel Frederick. They were 6-4, 2-6, 2-2 when the match was completed. 

Alura Troilo and Sha'xaria Gordon won the third and sixth singles, respectively, for Neumann. The Troilo sisters won 8-3 in second doubles. 

Marymount defeated Marywood 9-0 in the regular season. 

The Pacers return to the Atlantic East finals for the third time in the past four season. Marywood won the Atlantic East in 2021-22 and finished runner-ups to Immaculata University in 2020-21.
