Meighan Scores 100th Goal to Lift Pacers on Senior Day

Marywood honors Olivia Stollsteimer, Taylor Barksdale and Madelyn Lee on Senior Day

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University opened its Atlantic East Conference women's lacrosse schedule with a definitive 15-8 victory over Neumann University on Saturday. The Pacers acknowledged seniors Taylor Barksdale, Olivia Stollsteimer and Madelyn Lee prior to the game. 

Avery Meighan became the 10th member of the 100 Goal Club. Meighan scored a game-high six goals and two assists for eight points. She moved into 10th place all-time with 142 career points. Meighan also supplied nine draw controls, eight ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Kaitlyn Smith scored four goals and two assists for six points. Smith jumped to 12th all-time among Marywood points leaders. She had five draw controls. 

Stollsteimer secured a hat trick on her Senior Day game. Kortney Harry contributed a goal and two assists, and Tori Wilson matched a career-high with two points.

Lee tallied three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Catriona Corrigan made 13 saves. 

Jenna Scala made eight saves for the victory.

Marywood outshot Neumann by a 38-23 margin. Both teams had 24 ground balls. Marywood outnumbered 16-10 in draw controls. 

The Pacers opened up with a 3-0 lead. Meighan scored on a Smith pass less than three minutes into the game. Harry and Smith added to the lead. 

Marywood scored two goals within an 11-second span in the second. Smith scored a woman-up goal and then assisted Stollsteimer's netter for an 8-3 lead.

The Pacers went on a 6-1 run in the second half. Meighan's 100th goal came on an unassisted goal with 8:18 left to take a 15-6 lead. 

Marywood (4-5, 1-0) looks to extend its winning streak to three games Wednesday against Centenary University. The Pacers host the Cyclones at 4 p.m.
