Women's Soccer Picked Second in Atlantic East Preseason Poll

Marywood returns six of its top seven scorers

Lancaster, Pa. – Marywood University was picked second in this years Atlantic East Conference Women's Soccer Preseason Poll voted on by the head coaches, officials announced Monday. 
 
The Pacers received a total of 32 points, only one point behind the No. 1 seed, in this year's poll including four first-place votes. Marywood is returning six of its seven top scorers for the 2024 season. Josie Sorce, the reigning NCAA Division III statistical champion with 17 assists, returns for her graduate student season. Riley Mulherin, who was the Pacers' top scorer in the 2023 season with 46 points on 21 goals and four assists, is also among the returners. Carly and Caroline Walters will be returning as well. Carly finished out the 2023 season having scored 11 points with five goals and one assist. Caroline finished the season with 10 points having three goals and four assists. 
 
Marymount was picked first in the poll receiving 33 points, along with three first-place votes. Neumann was voted third place with a total of 25 points. Gwynedd Mercy followed close behind Neumann with a total of 20 points putting them in fourth place. Two points behind them is Centenary in fifth place with 18 points. Immaculata lands itself in sixth place having 14 points. Pratt ends the poll in seventh place having a total of 6 points. 
 
The conference kicks off on Friday, August 30, when Gwynedd Mercy takes on Centenary, and the 2024 AEC Championship is scheduled for Saturday, November 9.

The Pacers have their first game Sunday, September 1st against Muhlenberg. They will have their first conference contest on Saturday, October 12, when they face the third seed Neumann.
