Pacers Get Two Off Bench to Knock Off Golden Wolves

Genevieve Morrison, Jenna Orr combine for clean sheet

Reading, Pa. -- Marywood University women's soccer received a pair of goals from its substitutes in a 2-0 victory over Alvernia University on Saturday. The Pacers are 12-2 all time over the Golden Wolves, winning their past seven contests.

Maura Kirkpatrick and Caroline Walters came off the bench to score for the Pacers. Elena De Los Santos finished with an assist.

Genevieve Morrison and Jenna Orr combined for four saves to notch the clean sheet. Orr owns a perfect save percentage through eight matches.

Marywood (5-2-1) scored just before the half-hour mark. Josephine Sorce intercepted a ball at midfield and played a ball back to De Los Santos. She pushed a ball forward to Kirkpatrick. The freshman took three touches and delivered a 34-yard shot just inside of the right post.

Walters added to the Marywood lead in the 59th minute. After keeping a ball in play, Walters scored on a rocket from 25 yards out to the top shelf.

Marywood outshot the Golden Wolves by a 21-7 margin. The Pacers had a 14-4 advantage in shots on target. They tripled Alvernia 6-2 in corner kicks.

The Pacers travel to Cairn University on Wednesday.
