Pacers Cruise to Third Straight Shutout Win over Cairn

Langhorne, Pa. — Marywood University coasted to its third straight women's soccer victory on Wednesday. The Pacers shut out Cairn University 3-0 on the road. 

Josephine Sorce finished with a goal and an assist. Britlyn Higgins scored her first career goal. 

Marywood (6-2-1) scored first in the 23rd minute. On a transition play, Caroline Walters pushed a throughball to Mulherin for an open look at goal. Mulherin's goal is her sixth of the season. 

The Pacers added a second goal in the next 66th minute. After Rylee Alston was tackled in the box, Sorce converted a penalty kick to the top-right corner. 

Higgins capped Marywood's scoring in the 78th minute. Higgins headed a Sorce corner kick at the far side of the net. 

Jenna Orr made four saves for the clean sheet. Rhian Erspamer had 13 saves for the Highlanders. 

Marywood will travel back down to Southeastern Pennsylvania to take on Eastern University on Saturday afternoon.
