Marywood Marches Past Knights in 3-1 Victory

Frazer earns fourth win of the season

Florham, N.J. — The Marywood University field hockey team trekked to New Jersey to face FDU-Florham (3-4) in a non-conference match. The Pacers (4-4) went on to defeat the Knights, 3-1. 

The Knights had a goal in the 16th minute off the stick of Sophia Candeloro. 

The Pacers sparked in the third quarter tallying all three points. 

In the 34th minute Maria Tomada spotted Dariane Jones who knocked the ball into the cage to tie the game. 

Marywood went on to take the lead in the 40th minute when Jones passed to Jordan Saybe who ripped a shot that rattled the cage. 

The Pacers added another goal in the 43rd minute when Cydney Lahr zipped by the defense and buried a shot in the cage. 

Marywood outshot FDU-Florham, 19-11. The Pacers had 14 shots on target while the Knights had five. 

The Pacers posted 10 penalty corners compared to the Knight's two. 

Sabrina Frazer was in the cage and recorded four saves during the match. 

Emily Schlessinger recorded 11 saves for the Knights. 

The Pacers will be home Saturday at noon to take on William Paterson.
