Pacers Draw in Non-Conference Match Against the Beavers

Nolan Kozera notched his second goal of the seaon

Scranton, Pa. -- On a chilly Saturday afternoon, the Marywood University men's soccer team welcomed The City College of New York for a non-conference matchup. The Pacers (4-4-1) grabbed a late score to come away with a 1-1 draw against the Beavers (0-5-2).

After a first half battle, the clubs went into the half in a 0-0 draw.

The first tally of the match came in the 59th minute, as the Beavers were able to get one across the line to go up 1-0.

In the 81st minute, the Pacers evened up the score on a beautiful ball from Nolan Tordy that Nolan Kozera was able to get a head on. Kozera snuck it past the keeper to even the score at 1-1.

This is where it would finish, as Marywood came up empty on a handful of last-minute chances.

City College of New York keeper, Carlos Garcia, came up with nine saves on the day.

Jairo Salazar and Kelton Ostrander split time in net for the Pacers, combining for one save.

The Pacers recorded 22 total shots throughout the match, with 10 being on target. The Beavers had two of their four total shots on goal.

Kyle Falcon accounted for five of the Marywood shots, four of which were on net.

The corner kicks swayed in favor of Marywood 2-1.

The Pacers return to action on Wednesday, as they host Hood College in the annual Pacers Cup Trophy Match.
