Winning Streak Ends in 1-0 Loss at Hartwick

Genevieve Morrison makes one stop

Oneonta, N.Y. — Marywood University suffered its first women's soccer loss of the season in a 1-0 loss to Hartwick College on Sunday. The game ends a streak of three straight Marywood-Hartwick matches that have been tied after 90 minutes. 

The Hawks (2-1-1) scored the lone goal in the 28th minute. Millie Caldron found the back of the net on a Nicasia Santos feed. 

Caldron's goal ends a scoreless run of 297 minutes, 47 seconds by the Marywood defense. 

Marywood outshot the Hawks 6-2 with a 4-2 advantage in shots on target. The Pacers towered the Hawks 13-1 in corner kicks. 

Genevieve Morris allowed one goal in 90 minutes. Meghan Perry and Mikayla Piersa combined for four saves. 

Mia Menzzasalma looked to tie the game when her shot was saved by Perry in the 30 minute. Faith Meals' shot off a corner kick was dismissed in the 66th minute. 

Marywood returns to Scranton Wednesday to take on Mount Saint Mary College.
