Marywood Drops Close Decision to Saints

Pacers place five in double figures

Arlington, Va. — Marywood University dropped a close Atlantic East Conference men's basketball decision in an 85-80 loss to Marymount University on Saturday. The Pacers placed five in double figures.

Brendan Franko scored a game-high 23 points. Franko was 11 for 18 from the field.

Mason Mendygral and Michel Loftin each finished with 15 points apiece. Trevor Seitz scored 11 points, and Cole Johnson came up with 10 points off the bench.

Austin Bausman had five assists and a block.

Marymount took a lead with just under seven minutes remaining on an Issac Harris traditional three-point play. Franko brought the deficit to one (79-78) with a layup at the 2:35 mark of the second half. 

Harris made a basket with 48 seconds left, and Franko quickly responded with another layup to make it 81-80 with 31 seconds left.

The Saints made four free throws to close out the win.

Marywood led by as much as five points in the second half.

The Pacers outscored the Saints 52-36 in the paint. The Saints' bench outscored the Pacers 40-14.

Marymount's Harris scored 16 points and seven assists. Jase Mosley had a team-best 19 points.

Marywood travels to Immaculata University on Wednesday.
