Marywood Slashed By Mighty Macs

Blume drops 12 points

Scranton, Pa. — The Marywood University women's basketball team dropped a 79-55 decision to Immaculata University Wednesday in Atlantic East Conference women's basketball. 

The Pacers were led offensively by Mia Blume's 12 points. Megan Cavoli had 11 points and a team-leading five assists. 

Marywood opened up the game grabbing an early13-12 lead over Immaculata in the first seven minutes. However, they lost the lead at the end of the first quarter being outscored, 21-18. 

The Mighty Macs slipped away, taking a 13 point lead into halftime. 

The Pacers ultimately went on to fall, 79-55.  

As a team, the Pacers shot 21-66 (31.8 percent) from the floor in total, while going 10-28 (35.7 percent) from beyond the arc and 3-4 (75.0 percent) from the free-throw line. 

The Mighty Macs (15-3, 5-0 AEC) faired better, boasting a 29-63 (46.0 percent) clip from the floor, while also going 3-13 (23.1 percent) from three and 18-19 (94.7 percent) from the charity stripe. 

Marywood was out-rebounded 46-34. 

Olivia Ciullo led the Pacers with five boards. 

Kennedy Bittenbender tallied two blocks for Marywood. 

Carly Coleman led Immaculata in points (22) and rebounds (12). 

The Pacers will look to bounce back Saturday with a game on the road against Centenary.
