Pacers Bounce Back to Break Down Cyclones

Bivins nets a double-double

Scranton, Pa. — Just four days after falling by double digits, Marywood beat the same Centenary University squad 75-54 on Wednesday. The victory moves the Pacers in fourth place in the Atlantic East Conference men's basketball standings. 

Shilo Bivins scored his first career double-double. Bivins was a perfect 8 for 8 from the field for 17 points. He added 11 rebounds. 

Brendan Franko led the Pacers offensively with 20 points. Franko was just a rebound shy of a double-double. He provided a career-best three blocks. 

Mason Mendygral and Brandon Reed both reached double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively. 

Coming off the bench, Michel Loftin tallied seven assists and six rebounds. 

Kenneth Rankin had 13 points for the Cyclones. Jasir Lane had 12 rebounds.

Marywood used a 10-point run in the early minutes to take a 17-12 lead on Reed's 3-pointer at the 12:39 mark. 

Centenary moved to within five points (22-17), and Marywood responded with seven straight. Cole Johnson drained a 3-pointer that extended the lead to double digits. 

Marywood (11-9, 3-4 AEC) won 40-14 in points in the paint. The Pacers shot 45.9 percent from the field, limiting the Cyclones to 30.6 percent. 

The Pacers host Neumann University on Saturday at 3 p.m.
