Pacers Circle Past Cyclones, 4-1

Improves to 2-1 in Atlantic East play

Hackettstown, N.J. — The Marywood University men's soccer team had a dominant showing against Centenary University, Saturday afternoon. The Pacers (5-7-1, 2-1-0 AEC) took home the 4-1 victory over the Cyclones (3-9-1, 0-2-1 AEC). 

Marywood was quick to score first, as Hayden Slater connected with Jack Forbes who netted the ball in the seventh minute. 

In the 26th minute, Andres Gutierrez found Owen Clearwaters, who buried one into the back of the net to extend the Pacers' lead to 2-0. 

After the half, Marywood scored its third goal in the 68th minute off the boot of Jason Camardo. 

The Cyclones added a goal of their own in the 79th minute, making it a 3-1 game. 

The Pacers responded with a goal from Ryan Surowiec in the 83rd minute. 

Ryan Schweigart started in goal for Marywood, making a save. 

Jairo Salazar came in for relief, allowing the Cyclones' lone goal. 

Marywood out-shot Centenary, 23-8. 

Nine of the Pacers' shots were on goal, compared to the Cyclones' two. 

The Pacers will continue Atlantic East action on Saturday, hosting Marymount University.
