Men's Basketball Closes 2025 with Win over Mount Saint Mary

Himmelberg leads Pacers in scoring in both Washington and Lee games

Lexington, Va. - The Marywood University men's basketball team finished out the calendar year with an 85-71 win over Mount Saint Mary College Tuesday in the Washington and Lee Tournament consolation game. The Pacers head into the new year with a 7-3 overall record. 

Collin Himmelberg led the Pacers in scoring for the second consecutive game. Himmelberg totaled 23 points and eight rebounds. He made four 3-pointers. 

Michel Loftin reached double digits with 12 points, complemented by eight rebounds and five assists. Shilo Bivins produced 11 points. 

Joe Macciocco contributed seven assists. Ty Cheney had a team-high nine rebounds. 

Both Noah Perry and Reece Garvin factored in with nine points. 

The Knights (2-8) had four players in double figures: Matthew Walsh (18), Brenden Graham (13), JP Egan (11) and Justin Rivera (11). No Mount Saint Mary player had more than four rebounds. 

Marywood outrebounded the Knights by a 43-30 margin. 

The Pacers jumped out early by scoring the first nine points of the game. Himmelberg hit his second 3-pointer in a row to go ahead 9-0 in the first 78 seconds. 

Mount Saint Mary had a nine-point run early in the second half to bring the game to single digits. The Pacers led by no fewer than eight points after the opening five minutes of regulation. 

It is the Pacers' fourth straight win over the Knights. 

Marywood travels to Haverford College on Saturday.
