Pacers Fall to Neumann on Senior Day

Ciullo collects her seventh double-double of the season

Scranton, Pa. — The Marywood women's basketball team dropped a heartbreaker to Neumann University in a 49-46 loss on Saturday in Atlantic East Conference competition.

Marywood honored seniors Olivia Ciullo, Stephanie Klemick, and Rachel McDonald prior to the game. 

Ciullo led the Pacers offensively, collecting 17 points, grabbing 10 board along the way, en route to her seventh double-double of the season.  

The Pacers trailed in the first quarter but picked up the pace in the second to dig out of an eight point hole. Finley Bittenbender nailed the go-ahead jumper to give the Pacers a 22-21 lead heading into halftime.

After the half, the Pacers came out hot, going into the third quarter up by five. 

Shots would not fall late in the fourth for Marywood. The Knights went on a 10-0 run in the final two minutes to turn a Pacers lead of seven into a three point deficit to end it. 

Collectively, the Pacers shot 19-57 (33.3 percent) from the floor. In addition, Marywood went 4-20 (20.0 percent) from three-point range and 4-8 (50.0 percent) on free throws. 

Mia Blume had her second-straight game with double-digits points having 12. 

McDonald and Megan Cavoli each collected three assists for the Pacers. 

The Knights went 21-50 (42.0 percent) from the floor. Neumann also went 2-15 (13.3 percent) from behind the arc and 5-9 (55.6 percent) from the line. 

Emily DuPont led Neumann with 14 points. 

Marywood out-rebounded the Knights 35-32. 

The Pacers look ahead to Wednesday, as they host Gwynedd Mercy.
