Women's Lacrosse Falls in Penalty-Laden Season Opener

Shorewomen, Pacers play to 16 cards

Chestertown, Md. — Marywood University lost its women's lacrosse season opener 24-7 to Washington College on Saturday. The two teams played to 16 total penalties. 

Avery Meighan had a pair of goals with nine draw controls and two caused turnovers. Natalie Yilanjian totaled two goals. 

Kaitlyn Smith finished with a pair of assists. 

Washington's Tobin Chambers scored six goals. Mia Salvatierra finished with six goals and two assists for eight points. 

Washington outshot the Pacers by a 40-16 margin. They had a 22-10 advantage in ground balls. 

Marywood hosts Misericordia University Wednesday at 4 p.m.
