Pacers Cruise Past Wilkes in 11-6 Victory

John Scibello notched four goals

Edwardsville, Pa. — The Marywood University men's lacrosse team traveled south on Wednesday afternoon to take on the Colonels of Wilkes University. The Pacers came away with a commanding 11-6 victory with a dominant performance in the second half. The victory earned head coach Ryan Nowell his first career victory at the helm. 

John Scibello led the Pacers with six points, having four goals and two assists. 

Marywood was outscored 4-3 in the first quarter. Wilkes went up 3-0 early then, Scibello had two goals back-to-back. 

Ricky Strobel followed up with the Pacers' third goal assisted by Wil Pieters

Marywood stepped on the gas at the start of the second period and did not look back. 

Scibello had two goals in the second period and Strobel had one. Ben Peters tallied a late goal to give the Pacers a 7-5 lead going into halftime. 

The Pacers outscored the Colonels 4-1 in second half to pull away for good, winning 11-6. 

Logan Sanders and Lucas Wilson notched their first goals of the season in the victory. 

Colin Trainor was in the net for Marywood recording 13 saves in the contest. 

Wilkes' Caleb Miller had 15 saves in the loss. 

The Pacers outshot the Colonels, 41-29. Marywood also picked up 34 ground ball to Wilkes' 31. 

Marywood will continue non-conference play on the road Saturday taking on Keuka College.
