Pacers Drop to Westfield State on First Day of Spring Break

AJ Giannetti tallies his first homerun of the season

Fort Pierce, Fla. — The Marywood University baseball team traveled down to Florida for their spring break slate of games. Marywood opened up spring break with a match against Westfield State where the Pacers went on to fall by a score of 10-4. 

Tristan Gatchalain had three of the Pacers' seven hits. 

Westfield State had the hot bat the first two innings scoring six runs. 

Marywood would get on the board in the fourth with Evan Bruder scoring on a passed ball. 

In the top of the fifth, the Owls tacked on one more run. 

AJ Giannetti in the bottom of the fifth, hit a three-run homer bringing in Adam Ginsberg and Joel Ayers. 

The Owls responded back and scored a run in the sixth, seventh, and eighth inning closing out the game, 10-4. 

Caleb Fisher started for the Pacers pitching two innings, allowing eight hits, six earned runs, while tallying a walk and two strikeouts. 

Brett Kugler and Michael Conoscenti combined for three scoreless innings for the Pacers. 

The Pacers will be back in action Tuesday with a doubleheader against Lasell.
