Fiery Offense Ignites Pacers Past the Phoenix

Duncan tallies a career-high four goals

Chambersburg, Pa. — The Marywood University women's lacrosse team traveled to Wilson College Wednesday to take on the Phoenix. A strong first half helped the Pacers cruise to a 16-5 victory. The Pacers go on to improve to 6-4 in the season. 

Avery Meighan led the Pacers in points with six, having a goal and five assists. 

Alli Duncan led the scoring, having a career-high four goals. 

Kaitlyn Smith and Natalie Yilanjian each  had three goals and an assist for the Pacers. Carly Lynch posted two goals. 

The Pacers scored five goals in the first period, taking an early 5-1 lead. 

Kortney Harry, Casey Monaghan, Duncan, and Lynch all scored in the second period to give the Pacers a 9-2 lead heading into halftime. 

The Pacers produced five more goals in the third period off the sticks of Duncan, Felicia Pescatore, Smith, and Yilanjian. 

Marywood rounded out the fourth period with two more goals, securing a 16-5 victory. 

Jenna Scala was in the cage for the Pacers recording eight saves. 

Wilson's Kaelyn Goff was in goal for the Phoenix, tallying 20 saves. 

Alaina Marek of Wilson led the Phoenix with two goals. 

Marywood had 29 groundballs compared to Wilson's 24. 

The Pacers will continue non-conference action with a roadtrip to face the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday.
