Pacers Fold to Falcons in Twinbill

Sarafinko collects four RBIs in the doubleheader

Allentown, Pa. — The Marywood University Pacers traveled southeast Friday to face Cedar Crest College. The Pacers, despite a strong comeback effort in the seventh inning game one, dropped the twinbill to the Falcons (4-12).

Game One: Marywood 4, Cedar Crest 6

Tori Para, Riley Marshall, Jessica Hanley, and Marley Sarafinko tallied two hits each in the contest.

Cedar Crest sprinkled five runs in the first five innings.

The third inning was when the Pacers got their first run off a Marissa Hoffman single.

Sarafinko, in the top half of the sixth, plated Marywood's second run with a RBI single.

The Falcons swooped in and got one more insurance run, padding the lead to 6-2 heading into the final inning.

Marshall singled down the third base line to score Para, making it a 6-3 game.

The Pacers were able to load the bases with two outs just before Sarafinko singled up the middle, giving Marywood its fourth and final run.

Brianna Voyer picked up the loss, pitching six innings while allowing nine hits, six runs, four earned runs, and walking two. She struck out three Falcons.

Game Two: Marywood 2, Cedar Crest 12 (5 Inn.)

Sarafinko knocked in both runs for the Pacers.

Kat Davis, Riley Knott, and Para led the team with two hits a piece.

Para's two hits were both for extra bases, as she tallied a double and a triple.

Three Pacers pitchers got circle time in the match. Grace Lorah started for Marywood, tallying 1.1 innings and allowing one hit, five earned runs, and three walks. She struck out one.

Jessica Plunkett pitched a third of an inning while surrendering a hit, four earned runs, and three walks. Plunkett also struck out one.
