Men's Lacrosse Falls at Immaculata

Logan Sanders, John Scibello score twice

Immaculata, Pa. — Marywood University lost 8-4 to Immaculata University Saturday in Atlantic East Conference men's lacrosse action. The Pacers fall to 7-8 overall with a 1-2 record in conference play. 

Logan Sanders and John Scibello both scored twice for Marywood. 

Luke Ament went 9 for 15 from the faceoff-x with six ground balls. 

Mitchell Thompson tallied five ground balls. Joseph Keller collected three ground balls. 

Marywood goalkeeper Colin Trainor made 14 saves. 

The Mighty Macs (10-5, 3-0) were led by hat tricks from Bailey Manion and David Azzarano.  

Immaculata out-shot Marywood 40-29. The Mighty Macs edged the Pacers 30-28 in ground balls. 

The Mighty Macs got off to a fast start by scoring the first four goals of the game. After a scoreless first quarter, Manion put the first crooked number on the scoreboard 46 seconds into regulation. 

Sanders scored twice in a 61-second span to cut the Mighty Macs' deficit in half.

After Ben Weslowski tallied a man-up goal to close the third quarter, Scibello scored his first on a Ben Meighan assist with 9:02 remaining. Manion re-upped the Macs' lead to three, and Scibello netted a Dominic Cottone feed to cut the score to 6-4 with 5:36 left in the game. 

Immaculata closed the game with goals from Azzarano and Manion. 

Marywood will host Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
