Pacers Bow Out to Mighty Macs in Series Finale

Ayers went 2-3

Scranton, Pa. — The Marywood University Pacers closed out the series against Immaculata University (8-20, 4-5 AEC) on Monday afternoon. The Pacers (10-14, 2-7 AEC) fell to the Mighty Macs, 13-3. 

In the first inning, the Pacers jumped out in the lead with a sacrifice fly off the bat of AJ Giannetti

Immaculata would go on to produce three runs of their own in the top of the third. 

Marywood's second run came off a passed ball with Joel Ayers scoring, cutting the Mighty Mac's lead, 3-2. 

The Mighty Macs put up a daunting 10 runs  in the fifth, extending their lead to 12-2. 

Immaculata tacked on one more run in the sixth. 

Marywood mustered up a run in the bottom half of the sixth. Evan Bruner hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Ayers. 

Danny Tiedemann (1-2) started for the Pacers, going 4.1 innings, allowing eight hits, nine runs, eight earned runs, and two walks. 

Tim Higgins, Charlie Hamm, and Noah Trager all pitched in relief. 

Trager gave up no runs. 

The Pacers will head to Manhattanville University Tuesday for a non-conference game.
