Pacers Fall to the Red Dragons

Marywood faces Gwynedd Mercy on Friday

Cortland, N.Y. — On Wednesday, the Marywood University baseball team traveled north to take on SUNY-Cortland in a non-conference matchup. The Pacers (13-20) would fall to the Red Dragons (25-11), 6-2.  

In the top of the second, Christian Michak got Marywood on the board first with an RBI fielder's choice. 

SUNY-Cortland tied up the ballgame in the fourth. 

The Pacers regained the lead in the fifth, as Tristan Gatchalian blasted a solo homer to left center. 

In the bottom half of the inning, the Red Dragons responded quickly with hitting homerun of their own to grab a 3-2 lead. 

SUNY-Cortland padded the lead with three insurance runs in the sixth to make it 6-2.

Gatchalian collected three of Marywood's seven hits. 

AJ Giannetti tallied two hits as well. 

Five Pacers saw time on the mound today. 

Brett Kugler picked up the loss for Marywood.  

The Pacers will wrap up the regular season with a weekend series against Gwynedd Mercy that begins on Friday.
