Sixth Innings Haunt Pacers in Doubleheader Sweep

Arlington, Va. — Marywood University fell in late innings in both sets of an Atlantic East Conference softball doubleheader at Marymount University. The Pacers lost 8-7 and 8-6. 

Game 1: Marymount 8, Marywood 7

The Saints scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to come back from a three-run deficit. Marywood had three runs in the top of the inning. 

Tori Para hit a home run as part of a 2 for 3 effort with four RBIs. She also doubled and walked. 

Riley Marshall went 3 for 4 with a double and a stolen base. Riley Knott doubled and drove in two RBIs. 

Kat Davis stole her 13th base of the season, adding two hits. 

Game 2: Marymount 8. Marywood 6

Marymount scored eight unanswered runs after the Pacers rushed out to a four-run lead through the second inning. 

Trailing by four, Marywood put the go-ahead run at the plate. Kat Davis singled, and Brianna Voyer hit a double into left center. Tori Para hit a double up the middle, and Riley Knott followed with an RBI single. Marymount was able to get the next two batters out on a fielder's choice and a foul out to third. 

Voyer doubled twice and drove in two RBIs. Knott finished with two hits and two RBIs. Para had a pair of singles. 

Davis scored twice.

Grace Lorah went 5 1/3 innings with three strikeouts. 

Marywood travels to Misericordia University on Monday.
