Para Named Player of the Year, Voyer Tabs Rookie of the Year Honors, Seven Named to All-AEC

All seven Pacers were named to first team

Lancaster, Pa. – Marywood University junior Tori Para was named the Atlantic East Conference Softball Player of the Year, officials announced Wednesday. Brianna Voyer was named the Atlantic East Rookie of the Year, and the Pacers placed seven players on the Atlantic East First Team. 

Para, a first-team selection, led the Pacers with a .480 average. In 38 games, in which she started all 38, she had 61 hits, 34 runs, 23 doubles and drove in 42 runs. She also stole three bases.

Voyer, a first-team selection at pitcher, went 10-9 in 23 games with a 3.27 ERA. She struck out 53 and walked 32 in 126.1 innings of work. 

Joining Para and Voyer as First Team All-Atlantic East selections are Kat Davis, Jessica Hanley, Marissa Hoffman, Riley Knott, and Riley Marshall

Davis batted .354 this season while also stealing 18 bases. 

Hanley notched a .372 batting average and 18 RBIs. 

Hoffman brought in 22 runs while also batting .324 for the Pacers.

Knott threw out six base-stealers this year as well as posting a .375 batting average. 

Marshall posted a .583 slugging percentage, roping four doubles, four triples, and three home runs. 

Players were nominated by their coaches, who then voted on the teams and were not permitted to vote for their own players. 

Neumann's Marina Costello was named Pitcher of the Year. 

Immaculata University's Lily Hagan won the Elite 20 Award, given to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the championship site. Also, Immaculata won Coaching Staff of the Year.
