Marywood Earns Co-Coaching Staff of the Year; Seven Named All-AEC

Lancaster, Pa. — Marywood University won the Atlantic East Conference Co-Coaching Staff of the Year, officials announced Wednesday. The Pacers tabbed seven student-athletes on All-Atlantic East teams. 

Marywood shared the Coaching Staff of the Year honors with Marymount University. Led by head coach Krista Strausser and assistant coach Sarah McCormick, the Pacers went 9-7 overall and 3-2 in the Atlantic East. It is the second-ever coaching honor at Marywood. Previously, Marywood won AEC Coach of the Year in 2019. 

Avery Meighan, Kaitlyn Smith, Tori Wilson, Natalie Yilanjian and Lana Sorg were named First Team All-Atlantic East. Kortney Harry and Emily McLaughlin were named to the Second Team. 

Meighan earned her third consecutive First Team honor. Meighan led the Atlantic East in every defensive field category with 131 draw controls, 78 ground balls and 50 caused turnovers. She broke the Marywood single-season records for ground balls and caused turnovers. Meighan scored 46 goals and 33 assists for 79 points. 

Smith was named First Team for the second time in her career — her first since 2023. A three-time Player of the Week. Smith led the Pacers with 54 goals and 31 points for 85 points. She added 105 draw controls, 44 ground balls and 30 caused turnovers. 

Wilson was named to the First Team for the second straight season. She had 24 ground balls, 19 caused turnovers and a draw control. 

Yilanjian makes her first All-Atlantic East appearance. She had a career-high 46 goals with seven assists for 53 points. Yilanjian added career-bests for draw controls (35), ground balls (24) and caused turnovers (16). 

Likewise, Sorg earned All-Atlantic East recognition. She added 19 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers and a goal. 

Harry was honored to the Second Team for the second straight season. She produced 30 goals and 10 assists for 40 points. Harry recorded 23 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. 

McLaughlin earned her first All-Atlantic East laurel. She tallied 22 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.
