Meighan Nabs Second-Career All-Region Nod

The junior midfielder led the Atlantic East in all defensive categories

Northborough, Mass. — Marywood University junior midfielder Avery Meighan earned her second career Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Boardwalk Region Second team, officials announced Friday. Meighan becomes just the second student-athlete in Marywood women's lacrosse history to receive multiple IWLCA All-Region awards.

It is Marywood's sixth IWLCA All-Regional selection in program history. Meighan previously earned the award in 2023. Taylor McKeown was selected to the Second Team in 2011 and First Team in 2012. Kimberly Commisso was Second Team pick in 2012 followed by Gwyneth Gleason who was a Second Team pick in 2017.

Meighan was selected to her third Atlantic East First Team. She led the Atlantic East in every individual defensive category.

In NCAA Division III, she ranked in the top 10 in all three defensive stats. She was seventh with 8.19 draws controls per game, eighth with 4.88 ground balls per game, and 10th with 3.13 caused turnovers per game. Meighan finished with 33 assists, 46 goals, and 79 points.

Meighan was Atlantic East Player of the week once and appeared on the weekly honor roll four times.

The IWLCA honored 256 student-athletes in NCAA Division III. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to the national IWLCA All-Americna team. All-Americans will be announced on May 23.
