Volleyball Picked Third in Atlantic East Preseason Poll

Marywood receives one first-place vote

Haddonfield. N.J. – Marywood University was picked third in the Atlantic East Conference volleyball preseason poll, officials announced Monday. The Pacers received 37 points and one first-place vote.

Marymount University was picked to defend its Atlantic East Conference crown.

The Saints picked up five first place votes and 46 total points. Marymount aims to make it four straight Atlantic East Titles. New head coach Tom Doherty, will look to an experienced roster this fall.

Landing second was Neumann who picked up two first place votes for 43 points overall. The reigning Rookie of the Year, Melissa Eddy will lead the Knights as they eye a return trip to the conference title match.

Marywood tallied 37 points and one first place vote for third overall. Fourth in the coaches' poll was Gwynedd Mercy with 29 points.

Pratt narrowly landed in fifth with 20 points, followed by Immaculata with 18 points, Closing out the polls was Centenary with 15 points and Saint Elizabeth with 13 points.

Neumann, Marymount, Pratt, and Saint Elizabeth begin the regular season with matches on Friday, August 29th. Centenary, Gwynedd Mercy, Immaculata and Marywood play their first matches on Saturday, August 30th. Conference play begins on September 27th with Neumann traveling to Saint Elizabeth.

Marywood returns sophomore Ryleigh Hart (1.21 k/s) and Jaedyn Laws (3.86 a/s) from last year's starting lineup.

The 2025 Atlantic East Tournament is set to begin with the first round on Tuesday, November 11th followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 13, and the title contest on Saturday, Nov 15th.
