Pacers Falter to No. 23 Rochester

Toth scores her second goal of the season

Rochester, N.Y. — On Saturday, the Marywood University field hockey team hit the road to take on No. 23 Rochester. The Pacers (2-3) would go on to drop the contest to the Yellowjackets, 4-1. 

Rochester (5-1) struck first, scoring off a penalty corner. 

In the 18th minute, Marywood tied it up with a goal from Emma Toth, her second of the season.  

The score held at 1-1 going into the half. 

The Yellowjackets took a 2-1 lead off a penalty stroke. 

Rochester went on to score two more insurance goals in the 42nd and 44th minutes. 

The Pacers were out-shot by the Yellowjackets, 28-8. 

Marywood had six shots on target. 

Dariane Jones had three of the Pacers' on-goal shots. 

Rochester also led in penalty corners, 13-2. 

Sabrina Frazer started in the cage for the Pacers, making nine saves. 

In the fourth period, Bre Marchiano relieved Frazer, recording a clean sheet with six saves. 

Yellowjackets' goalkeeper, Kara Hudson, had four saves. 

The Pacers will look to rebound Sunday, facing St. John Fisher.
