Pacers End Skid with 3-0 Win over Albright

Dariane Jones notches a pair of assists

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University field hockey upended Albright College 3-0 to end its three-game losing streak on Wednesday. The Pacers move to 3-4 overall on the season. 

Dariane Jones had a pair of assists. 

Bre Marchiano earned the shutout with one save. Liv Rosengrant made a defensive save. 

After a scoreless first quarter, Brooke Barwick put the Pacers ahead in the 19th minute. Jones fired a cross to Barwick on the far side of the cage. 

Marywood added another goal in the 40th minute. Straub intercepted a pass in the backfield and drove past the keeper to give Marywood a 2-0 lead. 

Breanna Landers added to the Pacers' lead in the 54th minute. Jones delivered a ball that went through the goalkeeper's legs to give Landers a chance for her first goal in a Marywood uniform. 

Marywood outshot the Lions by a 24-3 margin with a 15-2 advantage on target. The Pacers led the Lions 10-4 in penalty corners. 

Marywood travels to Juniata College on Saturday.
