Freshmen Crack Record Books at Ocean Breeze

Staten Island, N.Y. — Marywood University had several freshmen crack the men's and women's indoor track and field record books Friday at the Spartan Invitational held at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. There was no team scoring.

Tasiyah Johnson ran the fourth-fastest women's 400-meter time in school history. Johnson finished 19th in 1:05.93.

Both Kalie Fernandez-Naughton and Elizabeth Tomasetti moved into a three-way tie for fifth place in the 200 dash. Both Fernandez-Naughton and Tomasetti finished the race in 28.47 seconds. They move into a tie with Dekonti Sayeh's 2018 sprint.

Camilla Zimmerman notched the fifth-best 800 run. Zimmerman ran the race in 2:37.58 for 17th place overall.

On the men's side, Cyrus Holland recorded the fourth-best 200 dash in program history. Holland crossed the finish line in 23.41 seconds for 28th place.

Raidan Francis had the Pacers' best finish. Francis was ninth out of 54 runners with a 4:36.46 run in the mile.

Paige Redman came in 12th place in the 3K in 11:56.99.

Fernandez-Naughton took 15th in the long jump. She measured a leap of 14 feet, 10 1/2 inches (4.53m).She was 18th in the triple kump in 29 feet, 11 1/4 inches (9.12m)

Braelyn Reed was 18th with a distance of 14 feet, 7 inches (4.44m) in the long jump. She was also 18th in the 60 dash in 8.44 seconds.

Janelle Sanabria raced to a 19th place run in the 800 in 2:39.14.

Joseph Cardillo came in fifth place in the 3K. He ran an 8:57.48 out of 38 runners.
