Men's Swimming Rolls Past Gallaudet

Washington, D.C. — Marywood University defeated Gallaudet University 117-33 to close out the Atlantic East Conference men's swimming season on Saturday. 

Alex McCarey won three events. McCarey clocked in at 12:51.24 to win the 1,000 free. He touched in 1:04.66 to win the 100 butterfly. McCarey beat out the field in the 100 back in 1:05.21. 

Aaron Purdy raced to a 2:24.37 finish to win the 200 free. Anthony Ciotti sprinted for a 27.91-second victory in the 50 free. 

Owen Turner was a multi-event winner, winning the 200 IM in 2:32.03 and the 100 breast in 1:16.28. Dominic Leone won the 500 free in 6:11.06. 

In the 100 free, Alex Corcoran was the top swimmer in 56.47 seconds. 

Marywood's 200 free relay of Leone, Ciotti, Corcoran and Sam O'Sullivan won out in 1:47.72. In the 200 medley, the Pacers' quartet of Leone, Turner, Corcoran and O'Sullivan notched a 2:00.56 victory. 

The Pacers will compete at the Atlantic East Conference Swimming Championships in St. Mary's City, Maryland on Valentine's Day weekend.
