Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University swept the Atlantic East Conference Women's Diving Championships on Sunday. The swimming portion of the Atlantic East championships will resume next week at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
Kenny Sawicki won the 1-meter diving event, and Kyla Harbodin was the 3-meter diving champion.
Sawicki won the 1-meter by a mere 2.25 points. She scored a 168.25 to earn the victory over Harbodin's 166 points.
Harbodin took first in the 3-meter with 222.75 points. Sawicki finished as runner-up with 169.2 points.
Sawicki and Harbodin became the 12th and 13th individual conference champions in Marywood women's swimming history.They are the first conference champions since 2020-21 (Gabby Cholish, 200 butterfly).
Marywood has won eight individual champions since joining the Atlantic East swimming in 2019-20.
Both Sawicki and Harbodin become the second and third Atlantic East diving champions. Bri Koehnke won Atlantic East's 1-meter dive in 2019-20. Marywood has four all-time diving champions.
The Pacers will compete at the swimming championships beginning on Thursday.
