Baseball Sweeps Gators in Early Season Routs

Bel Air, Md. — Marywood University earned its first two baseball wins of the season with a sweep over Notre Dame of Maryland University on Saturday. The Pacers defeated the Gators by scores of 18-9 and 16-1. 

Game 1: Marywood 18, Notre Dame 9

The Pacers used a seven-run sixth inning to defeat the Gators on the road.

After earned the loss in the Pacers' season opener, Owen Reilly picked up the win in the second game. Reilly threw three scoreless innings of relief. 

Joel Ayers went 3 for 4 with four RBIs. Ayers added three runs and reached base five tiems. 

AJ Kuzior homered as part of a four RBI performance. Evan Bruder had two hits and three runs. Adam Ginsberg scored three times. 

Mike Biskup drove in three RBIs in his second game in green and gold. Tanner Vicendese went 2 for 5 with two runs and two RBIs. 

Cam Bott stole two bases. 

Aidan Dolan and Caleb Fisher tossed scoreless outings. 

Game 2: Marywood 16, Notre Dame 1 (7 inn.)

In a seven-inning game, Austin Bausman allowed an earned run in four innings with three strikeouts. Noah Trager and Brett Kugler combined for three scoreless frames. 

Biskup batted 3 for 5 with three runs and three RBIs. All three of his hits were of the extra-base variety, hitting a double and two triples. 

Watson Church also had three RBIs on a 2 for 5 effort. Nick Ruiz doubled twice.

Jalen Soberal scored four times without registering a base hit. Ayers crossed home three times off a 2 for 4 performance. He added three stolen bases. 

Marywood plays Rosemont College in a doubleheader Sunday at La Salle University's Hank DeVincent Field.
