Four Pacers Score Twice in 9–5 Win Over Muskingum

Virginia Beach, Va.- The Marywood University men's lacrosse team used a fast start and balanced scoring to defeat Muskingum University, 9–5, on Thursday morning in Virginia Beach.

Marywood seized control early, scoring four goals in the opening quarter while holding Muskingum scoreless. Alexander Votra started the scoring with a man-up goal at the 10:12 mark, and Owen Kelly followed with an unassisted tally midway through the period.

Osten Grigas and Kelly added goals in the final 19 seconds of the quarter to give the Pacers a commanding 4–0 advantage after one quarter of play.

The Pacers continued their offensive pressure early in the second quarter. Ben Meighan scored just over two minutes into the frame to extend the lead to five, and he added another later in the period. Muskingum responded with three straight goals from Tyler Workman and Evan Cosgrove to trim the deficit to 6–3 by halftime.

Marywood regained momentum in the third quarter with goals from Sean Bonhag and Votra. Muskingum briefly cut into the deficit with goals from Cosgrove and Adin Mondul, but the Pacers' defense held the Fighting Muskies scoreless over the final 20 minutes.

Grigas sealed the victory midway through the fourth quarter with his second goal of the game, finishing a feed from Michael Caputo.

Kelly, Votra, Meighan, and Grigas each scored two goals to lead Marywood's offense, while Bonhag added a goal and an assist. Kelly also contributed an assist for a three-point performance.

Luke Ament dominated the faceoff circle, winning 15 of 18 draws and collecting a team high 13 ground balls. The Pacers also outshot Muskingum 46–29 and held a 25–20 edge in ground balls.

In goal, Colin Trainor made eight saves to earn the win for Marywood.

Tyler Workman led Muskingum with two goals and an assist, while Cosgrove added two goals in the loss.

The Pacers (4-3) face Virginia Wesleyan University on Saturday.
