Pacers Break 4x400 Record at Widener

Chester, Pa. — Marywood University women's track and field broke the eight-year old 4x400 relay record at Widener University's Danny Curran Invitational over the weekend.

Abby Megotz, Elizabeth Tomasetti, Caroline Walters and Carly Walters came in fifth place overall to beat the 4x400 record by 2.78 seconds. The Pacers finished in fifth place overall with a time of 4:11.42.

Tomasettin came in 20th place in the 100 hurdles. She finished in 17.6 seconds to record the fifth-best time in school history.

Carly Walters ran the third-fastest 400-meter time. Walters came in 26th place overall with a 1:01.63. Her sister Caroline Walters was 30th in 1:02.95, and Megotz came in 51st in 1:05.24.

The women's 4x100 relay of Tomasetti, Tasiyah Johnson, Megotz and Braelyn Reed were eighth in 52.83 seconds.

Leah Zambetti took sixth place in the javelin with a mark of 114 feet, 2 inches (34.8m).

Braelyn Reed was 27th in the triple jump, measuring at 29 feet, 2 3/4 inches (8.91m).

In the shot put, Alli Griscavage was 34th place with a throw of 32 feet, 2 inches (9.8m).

The Pacers had back-to-back finishers in the 10K. Cassandra Juliano was 32nd in 46:27.14, and Bella Auchenbach was 33rd in 47:02.8.

Marywood competes again on Wednesday at York College of Pennsylvania.
