Tomasetti, Zambetti Sweep Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

Haddonfield, N.J.- The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Outdoor Track & Field weekly award winners on Monday, with Marywood's Elizabeth Tomasetti being named Track Athlete of the Week and Leah Zambetti being named Field Athlete of the Week.

Tomasetti opened her collegiate career with an individual win at the King's Monarch Open. She ran 400 hurdles in 1:12.19 for first place. Her time ranks first in the Atlantic East and third all-time at Marywood. A week later, she ran the fifth-best 100 hurdles time in Marywood history, finishing in 17.6 seconds at Widener. Tomasetti finished 20th overall in the race. Her 4x400 relay team finished fifth at Widener and broke a school record by three seconds in 4:11.42. 

Zambetti won the javelin at the King's Monarch Invite, highlighted by a throw of 87 feet, 2 inches (26.58). She was also fourth place in the discus (31.57m), fourth in the high jump (1.26m) and sixth in the hammer (26.58m). Zambetti was sixth overall in the javelin at Widener with a throw of 34.8m.

Marywood heads to York College of Pennsylvania on Wednesday for the York Twilight Meet.
