Pacers Check Off Ospreys in Midweek Matchup

Galloway, N.J. — Marywood University defeated Stockton University 12-8 Tuesday in a midweek non-conference baseball matchup. It was the first-ever meeting between the Pacers and Ospreys.

Adam Ginsberg drove in a pair of RBIs and reached three times. Mike Biskup, Nick Ruiz and Cam Bott each finished with two hits.

Both Bott and Biskup joined Joel Ayers with two runs scored.

In a bullpen game, Owen Reilly earned his second victory of the season. Aidan Dolan, Brett Kugler, Tim Hiffins, Logan Vakiener and Noah Trager did not allow an earned run.

Marywood took the lead in the second inning with four runs on two hits. Bott started the rally with an RBI single to center field. Bruder and Ginsberg both drove in runs on bases-loaded walks. Ayers hit a sacrifice fly to bring in the fourth run.

Stockton took advantage of two errors in the bottom of the frame to plate three runs.

In the fourth, the Pacers (12-9) plated a run on a Ginsberg single. The Ospreys evened the score in the bottom half of the inning. Nick Avagnano's sacrifice fly squared the game at 5-5.

Marywood took the lead for good in the fifth using small ball. AJ Kuzior led off with a hit by a pitch. Ethan Reccek bunted him over to second, and Biskup moved him to third on a fly out to center field. That set up a Ruiz single to take a 6-5 lead. Marywood added one more in the seventh on another sacrifice fly — this one from Ethan Reccek

The Pacers posted a five-run eighth inning.

Marywood will return to New Jersey on Thursday to take on Saint Elizabeth University in a doubleheader.
