Marywood Sweeps Saint Elizabeth, Stretches Win Streak to Four

Morristown, N.J.  — Marywood University stretched its winning streak to four games with a doubleheader sweep over Saint Elizabeth University Thursday in Atlantic East Conference baseball action. The Pacers defeated the Eagles by scores of 9-5 and 11-6.

It is the Pacers' first Atlantic East Conference road sweep since beating Centenary University on April 13, 2024.

Game 1: Marywood 9, Saint Elizabeth 5 (7 inn.)

Austin Bausman did not allow an earned run in four innings to capture his third win of the year. Noah Trager earned his second three-inning save, striking out four batters and allowing just a hit.

Marywood scored seven of its runs in the opening two innings.

Adam Ginsberg went 2 for 5 with a run and an RBI. Ethen Reccek, Mike Biskup and Watson Church each drove in a pair of RBIs.

Church doubled as part of a 2 for 3 effort. Tanner Vicendese also had a pair of base hits.

The Pacers opened with two runs in the top of the first. After Bruder reached on a leadoff error, AJ Kuzior started the two-out rally with a single through the right side. With the bases load, Mike Biskup singled in a run. Church took a hit by a pitch for an RBI.

Marywood piled on five runs in the second. The Pacers started the inning with four straight singles. Reccek drove in two on a single to left field. Biskup grounded out to score a run. Church's twobagger to right center scored Reccek to grow Marywood's lead to 7-0.

Game 2: Marywood 11, Saint Elizabeth 6

Marywood capped off the sweep, never trailing throughout the 16-inning inning doubleheader.

Isaac Galarza improved to 2-0 on the season. He struck out five in as many innings, allowing three earned runs and three base hits.

Aidan Dolan allowed a hit in a scoreless inning, and Danny Tiedemann threw two scoreless frames with a pair of strikeouts.

The Pacers had three players rack up three hits. Adam Ginsberg went 3 for 5 with three RBIs, two runs and a double. Ethan Reccek also went 3 for 5 with a run and an RBI. Cam Bott finished with three singles, two runs and a stolen base.

Tanner Vicendese had two RBIs.

After two innings of three-up, three-downs by both teams, Marywood scored three runs in the third inning. Vicendese hit a one-out single for the game's first runner. After Bott walked, Evan Bruder singled to left to bring home the first run. Ginsberg doubled to clear the bases to extend Marywood's lead to 3-0.

The Eagles hit a sacrifice fly to cut into the Pacers' lead in the bottom of the third.

It stayed a two-run game until Marywood added two in the fifth. Bott led off with a single, moving to third on a Bruder sacrifice bunt and a stolen base. With runners on the corners, Joel Ayers hit an infield single. Reccek hit a single up the middle with the bases loaded to score the fifth run of the game.

Saint Elizabeth cut the lead to two runs before Marywood put the game out of reach with a four-run seventh inning. Mike Biskup hit a bases-loaded single through the left side, followed by Church's RBI groundout to the pitcher that scored a run. Vicendese cleared the bases with a two-RBI single to right.

It is Marywood's longest winning streak since a five-game streak in 2024.

Following Easter break, the Pacers and Eagles return to action Tuesday at Pacer Park.
