Pacers Score Six in the Fourth to Blaze Past Juniata

Owen Kelly scores three goals and an assist

Huntingdon, Pa. -- Marywood University men's lacrosse scored eight unanswered goals to mount a 12-7 comeback victory over Juniata College on Saturday. The Pacers even their record to 3-3 overall on the season. 

Trailing 7-4 in the third quarter, the Pacers pieced together eight goals in the final 20 minutes of regulation. 

Alexander Votra ignited the comeback effort with a goal off of an assist from Owen Kelly

Ben Meighan closed the third and opened the fourth with back-to-back goals — the latter of which tied the game at 7-7. 

Shaun Howey scored the game-winning goal on an unassisted tally with 12:32 remaining. 

Leading the Pacers offensively was Kelly with a goal and five assists. Votra contributed three goals and an assist. 

Both Meighan and Osten Grigas recorded hat tricks. Ricky Strobel also had three points with a goal and two assists. 

Luke Ament had his second consecutive dominant performance at the faceoff-x. He won 17 of 22 faceoff attempts with 15 ground balls. 

Defensively, Dalton Gerver provided three caused turnovers and seven ground balls. Wil Pieters and Sean Bonhag both had four ground balls. Antonio Cortes also finished with three caused turnovers.

In net, Colin Trainor made 11 saves. Juniata's Griffin Umstead made 21 saves. 

Marywood outshot Juniata by a 56-20 margin with a 33-18 advantage in shots on goal. The Pacers had 60 ground balls to the Eagles' 29. 

Marywood heads south to face Muskingum University and Virginia Wesleyan University in Virginia Beach.
