Women's Lacrosse Win Streak Ends at Seven

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University women's lacrosse's seven-game winning streak came to a close Friday in a 15-12 loss to Atlantic East Conference rival Neumann Univversity. The Pacers fall to 8-6 overall and 2-1 in conference play. 

Neumann jumped ahead to a 5-2 lead with four straight goals in the first quarter. The Pacers were not able to get within less than two goals for the remainder of the contest. 

Kaitlyn Smith broke the Marywood single-season record for assists. Smith tallied three assists — along with three goals — for a program-best 43 assists. She also provided 10 draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls. 

Jessica Banta had a team-high four goals. She contributed four ground balls and two caused turnovers. 

Avery Meighan scored twice. She picked up six ground balls, six draw controls and two caused turnovers. 

Natalie Yilanjian tallied two goals and two assists. Danica Kelly scored a goal and an assist. 

Defensively, Alli Duncan secured four ground balls and two caused turnovers. 

Jenna Scala made 10 saves for the Pacers. 

Marywood travels to Arlington, Va. to face Marymount University on Sunday, April 19 at noon.
