Women's Tennis Triumphs over Marymount

Arlington, Va. — Marywood University edged Marymount University 4-3 in Atlantic East Conference women's tennis action. The Pacers won all four of their points in singles play for the win over their rival Saints.

Kylie Kilgore won the top singles flight by 6-2, 6-2 scores over the Saints' Avery DeFazio.

Avianna Santarelli went on to a three-set win in the No. 2 singles. She defeated Sofi Plotkin by 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 scores.

In the fourth singles, Hanna Adonizio came back to win in three sets. She defeated Renee Schmidt by 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 scores.

Hannah Brownlee notched a win in the fifth singles. She upended Ainur Bekenova with a 6-2, 6-0 decision.

Marymount earned singles points in the third on Olivia Clontz' 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-0 win over Catarina English. Peyton Johnson won 6-0, 6-4 over Abby Mach in the No. 6 singles.

The Saints won all three doubles sets for the point. DeFazio/Plotkin beat Kilgore/English 7-5 in the top flight. Clantz/Schmidt prevailed 6-4 over Adonizio/Santarelli in second doubles. Johnson teamed with Frankie Loiseau for a 6-4 win over Mach/Brownlee in third doubles.

Marywood (7-4) will take on Bard College on Tuesday in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y.
