Leah Zambetti and
Paige Redman received Atlantic East Conference weekly awards, announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
Zambetti was selected field athlete of the week as she took 20th place at Bucknell in the javelin. Facing mostly Division I and II competition, Zambetti hit a mark of 120 feet, 8 inches (36.78m). Her throw leads the Atlantic East Conference performance list by over five feet.Â
Redman landed on the weekly honor roll as she took first place in the 10K at West Chester. She finished the race in 42:11.4 to beat the field by nine minutes. Redman beat her PR by 2 minutes, 18 seconds. Her time leads the Atlantic East performance list by four minutes, and it is the fourth-best run in school history.
Earlier in the month, Redman was part of a 4x800 team with Caroline Walters,
Janelle Sanabria and
Camilla Zimmerman that broke an 11-year old school record by 27 seconds. They finished second at York with a time of 10:30.82.Â
Marywood heads to Misericordia University for the Misericordia Invite on Saturday.
